The last few weeks have been hectic. And, therefore, I’ve been absent here. Let’s see what happened:

♣ I started my first communication consulting job for direct sales companies. I’ve associated with a large consulting company in Brazil and now I’m heading the communication analysis for the multilevel segment. I’ve finished my first project and the second one is currently ongoing.

The best thing about it is that I am really happy with this type of work. Obviously, as in any consulting job, I don’t have a fixed salary. My income depends on the conclusion of projects. But the freedom I have with this work is something I could never have in a traditional job. I work from home, in my own time, and I can take care of myself and my family. I’m really loving it!

And there is a chance this will expand, as I get more projects, and with the opportunity to start a new business. News to come soon!

I’ve also been busy with my Mary Kay business. I started selling products late October and even though I’m not fully dedicated to it, I’ve been getting a reasonable extra income with the sales.

Another activity that took quite a big chunk of my time in the past weeks was cooking. Every year I bake gingerbread cookies for my family. This year I decided to sell them as well, to get a little extra income. And it worked!

I advertised it in my social network profiles and got some large orders. The same week, a journalist from the site Finanças Femininas (Women’s Finance) was seeking someone who had been doing something different to earn extra income in the end of the year and I offered to tell my story. It was published here:

The same day I gave that interview, a producer from GloboNews (the major news cable channel in Brazil) called me and asked me to record an interview the next day. And that’s how I ended up in the show Conta Corrente!

Some sad things also happened in this period. In mid-November I lost my grandmother. And last week my husband lost his mother. These are difficult times and they become more common as we get older, unfortunately. My grandmother was here in São Paulo, where most of my family lives. That makes things a little less painful. But it’s very different for my husband. Now we are getting ready to fly to the UK, so he can visit his father and sister. Because of the holiday season, tickets are way too expensive now, so we won’t be able to attend the funeral. But we’re flying there during Carnival.

And life goes on. I hope the next months are hectic too. I want to have a lot of work, but I also want to have time to exercise, be with my husband and family and do other things I like. Be that selling cosmetics and makeup or, now again, baking cookies. May the next year be full of new opportunities!

Happy 2018!
